Lexie Hansen has been one of the most enthusiastic and effective teachers to come out of the Utah State piano program since I’ve been here. She is a natural teacher, who can inspire students at all ages and stages, in one-on-one settings or in group classes. We will miss her energy here, but we know she will be a leader the field of piano pedagogy wherever she goes.

Lexie has taught my son piano lessons from the time he was 8-10, and she has taught my daughter from ages 6-7. Both of my kids have loved taking lessons from Lexie. She knows how to challenge them to work harder, while also making piano fun. She always helps the kids pick out repertoire pieces that they end up loving to play and practice. As a parent, I have always appreciated Lexie's organization and her conscientiousness in keeping me informed on my children' s progress. Lexie is a teacher who truly wants my children to thrive in their lessons, and she doesn't hesitate to make adjustments if she feels something isn't quite working with them. We loved having Lexie Hansen for a piano teacher for my 16 year old son. She helped him acquire a love for classical music, which has improved his life in many more areas than just piano. Alexis is a qualified piano technique teacher, as well. She understands and helps the student to understand that a performance piece should be chosen within their level of technique. Along with all of this, Alexis does well with challenging her students, while keeping it fun. My son had the incredible experience of taking a piece by Debussy and translating the expression notations from French into English. His experience of preparing Minstrels for a competition became a great experience that helped him to progress in his piano skills.
